Jace’s heart pounds in his chest while his Navy SEAL team finishes the mop-up on the deck of the Somali pirate ship. But the battle isn’t what affects his heart rate. It’s the beauty he’s rescuing. The female kidnap victim wouldn’t appear beautiful to most in her disheveled state, but to Jace, she’s a princess.
Brooklyn’s consciousness fades from her grasp as the most beautiful angel descends from the heavens to deliver her from her torment. Back home, she finds out her family is still alive and being held for ransom. Thoughts of her rescuer invade her soul while she seeks out her former captors in an effort to free her family.
Jace finds Brooklyn once again in the pirates’ captivity. This time, he's able to pull her from their grasp before any further harm befalls her and he brings her family with them. They spend what little time is left of Jace’s leave laying the foundation for a lifetime of blissful romance.
Tell me about yourself.
I am married to my high school sweet heart, who is a home maker with our little boy, as well as an author. I have been a self-employed optometrist for the past six years. My family and I enjoy outdoor activities like water sports, fishing, bicycling, hiking, and target shooting.
What sets you apart from other writers?
I incorporate the detailed scientific knowledge I obtained in pursuit of my Doctor of Optometry degree, and am still obtaining as I continue to enhance my knowledge base for my patients, into my suspense and/or romance novels.
Who are your favorite authors?
I enjoy reading books by James Rollins, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
We’re in a bar and I’m buying you a drink. What’ll it be?
This is kind of funny. I’m a 220 pound ex-college football player that would love anything that is frozen, colorful, and has an umbrella in it.
What are you currently reading?
The book I am currently reading is Devil Colony by James Rollins.
What are your writing vices?
My best creativity comes when I’m sitting with my laptop in front of the TV watching Family Guy.
If you could gift yourself one superpower, what would it be?
I would like the power to heal people like on The Green Mile.
How do you deal with rejection?
I understand that no one person can make everyone happy, and I strive to continue doing what I do for those who appreciate it.
Where did the idea for your novel come from?
I like the idea of elite military forces, and I have several patients who have had their own personal experiences in the military or someone in their immediate family had stories to tell. I used pieces of each of those stories and incorporated them into this story.
You’re stranded on a deserted island. What three items would you take?
I would want a fishing pole, my wife and little boy, and no cell phone.
What project(s) are you working on now?
I am currently working on the third in a series of full-length thriller novels.
What would I find in your couch cushions?
With the four dogs and two cats we have in our house, our couch cushions would most likely be harboring dog treats and cat toys.
Do you ever encounter writers block?
I do on occasion. When I do, I work on other things, and a new direction usually comes to me.
Do you have a day job?
I am a self-employed optometrist.
Is your writing based on real life experiences or is it all imaginary?
It is mostly imaginary. I try to write about locations where I have been with my family.
What does your main character think about you? Would he or she want to hang around you as their author?
I think they would enjoy hanging out with me. I they didn’t, I might write them into some peril.
Who would play the starring role(s) if your book became a movie?
I don’t think I would like being in a movie, but my mom thinks Bruce Willis should be the main character.
If you’d like, provide an excerpt and/or back cover blurb:
A routine United States Navy SEAL rescue mission turns Jace’s life upside down. In SEALed With A Kiss, Jace pulls a female hostage from a Somali pirate ship, and he is instantly smitten with her. Thoughts of the first rescue target he’d ever had trouble forgetting about in his eleven year career, compelled him to take his leave and seek her out.
To his surprise and disappointment, Jace finds Brooklyn’s aunt who informs him that she’s already left in pursuit of the very pirates from which he’d delivered her. They held her family. Without hesitation, Jace took after her once more, and once more, he found her in captivity. This time, not under the direction of the U.S. Navy, he took out some of his aggression on any pirate who crossed his path. Once again, he pulled Brooklyn from captivity.
Brooklyn’s guardian angel rescued her from a horrible, tortured existence and delivered her family back to their home. For reasons even deeper than that, he’d been the first man to claim her mind, body, and soul all at once. She spends the last few days of Jace’s leave consummating their new relationship and building the promise of a blissful life together.

I have a website that can be found at travisksharpe.webstarts.com.
As a writer, it can be difficult to find enough time in the day to get everything done. Would you like to share your favorite ‘quick and easy’ recipe?
Generally, the only time I can get any writing done is between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. My quick and easy recipe is to get up and write when nobody else wants to be up.
I’m excited to see this, my first published work, out for sale. I hope everyone who reads it enjoys doing so.
