Book Title: H.E.A.R.T. Saga book 2: The Choice
Tell me about yourself. What’s a day in your life like? My name is Linna Drehmel and my private life is pretty boring.
When you were a child, what was your dream occupation? Archaeology. I still love it.
Who are your favorite authors? Tad Williams is my favorite. His books are so rich and pull you in so well that your worst fear is that you will die before you finish the book. I have come to learn in the last few years that he is pretty nice guy. I also really like Anne Rice.
What are you passionate about? Music and my writing.
What would I find in your couch cushions? Not much. I keep my sofa pretty clean.
What’s your biggest fear? SPIDERS!!! KILL ‘EM! KILL ‘EM WITH FIRE!
It’s 10:00 on a Friday night. Where are you? On Facebook and working on a manuscript.
What sets you apart from other writers? I am me. I think that sets me apart. There is no one in the world like me! How many authors do you think are out there with my name?
We’re in a bar and I’m buying you a drink. What’ll it be? Monster energy drink…the blue one!
What are you currently reading? Birth of the Nyxian by Amanda R. Browning.
Where did the idea for your novel come from? Inside of my own head. I have spent a life time reading SciFi so that helped I guess and as always music inspires me but this story, I can’t say where the idea came from. One day it was just there and I knew I had to write it and share it with the world.
Do you have advice for aspiring writers? Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do it! Do it anyway! A good friend of mine Madison Daniel has told me many times, “Chase your muse and trust your words.”
What is the toughest criticism you’ve received as an author? I had someone call my work trash before. I have learned to shrug it off. To each their own.
What does your main character think about you? Would he or she want to hang around you as their author? This question is a little weird even for me! I think they have doctors for this kind of thing.
Who would play the starring role(s) if your book became a movie? I have already got this one worked out! It is all on my blog. I did character profiles for each of the main characters in this series. Check out one of the main characters for book two on my blog… http://linnadrehmel.blogspot.com/2011/09/hearts-children-fredrik.html
If you had to choose one…which song would sum up your story? New World Order by William Control
If you’d like, provide an excerpt and/or back cover blurb:
“He didn’t care about what he ate or where he slept. The pain and madness could not let him care. The madness also would not let this once neat and tidy man groom himself. His hair was dirty and matted and had begun to grow down into his eyes. The hair on his face had begun to grow until Second Councilor Fredrik was almost unrecognizable.
Now that the ship was mostly empty and he was utterly alone, Fredrik’s pain and madness seemed to be heightened. The blaring agony made it so hard for him to hold on to a sane thought for very long.
“Symon!” He mumbled pitifully to the emptiness. “Where are you? Why won’t you heal me?”
He staggered and stumbled as if he wore shackles on his legs, through what was once his own community. But he didn’t notice this, all he knew was pain.”

As a writer, it can be difficult to find enough time in the day to get everything done. Would you like to share your favorite ‘quick and easy’ recipe? I have found that if it is really something you want to do. You will make the time to do it. Simple as that.
Anything else? Please check out my ‘muses’ most of them are independent artists like myself.

Linna Drehmel was born at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho in 1973 and grew up surrounded by military. Her father served for 22 years in the Air Force, her mother was a military police officer in the Marines, and her older brother served for 10 years in the Navy. She draws inspiration from her family's many years of proud service in the military. She has spent much of her life studying anthropology and has a particular fondness for archaeology. She loves to find ways to intertwine anthropological and archaeological themes into her writing. She also has a strong understanding of what the reader likes, as she herself is an avid reader.
